Liverpool want to secure Naby Keita

Naby Keita was linked with RB Leipzig in the last summer transfer window. However, Jurgen Klopp closed the door on him at Anfield. "We are not fools...", he said at the time, making it clear that he was an irreplaceable player for him and the club.

Liverpool want Keita to continue beyond 2022-23. According to 'Football Insider', the Reds are preparing a new contract for him and he will receive a renewal proposal in a few days.

Klopp is clear that Keita must be in his squad. Although he has barely played five minutes so far this season due to a muscle injury, Liverpool have him in their plans for the future and do not want to let him go.

If the Reds do not convince him to sign a new contract, the midfielder will be able to negotiate with the club of his choice in January. In June he would leave without leaving a single euro in the club's coffers and that is precisely what the board is trying to avoid.
