Liverpool squad for PSV clash: Slot opts to rest star players

Liverpool travel to the Netherlands to face PSV in the final round of the Champions League league phase on Wednesday. The Reds have already secured their ticket to the round of 16 after their 2-1 win over Lille on matchday seven.

As a result, Arne Slot has opted to shuffle his pack as many key players have been excluded from the matchday squad. Alisson, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szobozlai, Salah and Diaz will all be rested for the clash at the Philips Stadion.

Their absence offers a big opportunity for players who often find themselves on the bench to showcase their talents and impress the Liverpool head coach. Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez are all missing from the shortlist due to injuries, though the latter was back to team training earlier today.
