Levante players wore stained kit in tribute to volunteers in DANA catastrophe

Levante faced Elche on Saturday in La Liga 2, and they did so featuring a special-edition kit amid the devastating floods that have hit the Valencia region in recent weeks. Ahead of kick off, players went on the pitch with a dirty version of their home kit, featuring mud stains all over the jersey, to pay tribute to those helping communities in Valencia that have been hit by the DANA on October 29th.

The shirt also featured a message in Valencian on the chest that read: "In homage to all of you who were there when we needed you". Meanwhille the back of shirt beared the list of the municipalities affected by the storm in memory of all the victims and those affected by the storm.

The special-edition jerseys, which will be signed by the players, will be auctioned from Monday afternoon for a starting price of 100 euros on Levante's official website, and will be available for two weeks. The funds from the auction will go towards those suffering from the impact of the DANA.

While  the special kit was only worn during the preview of the match against Elche, a small tweak to their usual kit was made. Instead of the club's main sponsor, the footballers played the game with the phrase "Forever with our people. More than you think" printed on the chest in Valencian.
