“Lewandowski's goal? If it was a mistake, they should investigate it and take action”

Barcelona dropped three points against Real Sociedad with their second La Liga defeat of the season. The match between 'Txuri-urdin' and 'Cules' was marked by the controversy of the goal disallowed to Robert Lewandowski for a millimetric offside.

This was echoed by Inaki Pena, who made his opinion clear in the mixed zone: “If there is a possible error in the marking of Lewandowski's foot, let's hope that La Liga acts, because that's what the VAR and the lines are there for. If it was a mistake, they should investigate it and take action.”

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick also made his stance on the controversial play clear: “I told the referee it was a bad decision, but it's not his fault and I know that. That's all I can say.

The semi-automated offside technology used in La Liga indicated the front of Lewandowski's boot was off, but Spanish media furiously debated whether the technology had misinterpreted Aguerd's heel as part of the veteran striker's boot.
