The former Chelsea and England player, who won the Champions League, as well as the Premier League four times, has admitted that the win against Reading gave him the same adrelaline rush.
Tom Lawrence's 94th minute header hit the back of the net, giving Lampard the same winning rush.
Derby were lucky to come away with the points in their first Championship game of the season, as Lawrence's winner came after Chelsea loanee Mason Mount leveled with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson's opener.
"That is right up there with what I have done in my career," Lampard said following the win.
"I do not want to get carried away because it certainly won't be like that every week, but in terms of that moment it was fantastic."
"That's what I am back in the game for. Those feelings are incredible and you can see from the celebrations at the end how much that means to us all."
"You live it. You are in it. You see things from the side that you want to affect but you can't always affect them. I knew this was not going to be easy and plain-sailing."
"I did enjoy it at the end. That's what it is. It's my new job. Those 90 minutes are what you work all week for."
Despite taking an early three points in the campaign, Derby will still have to show a lot of improvement if they want to reach their top six target.
"When the dust settles, there is lots for us to do," Lampard said.
"I understand the pressure that comes with it. I'm not silly. It's my first job and it's a big job."
"I am pleased to get the first game out of the way and the reality is that, for all the hype, I will get judged on results and performance. I have no illusions about that."
"We didn't deserve to win the game and there's lots of things to improve on. We needed to quicken our game and show more urgency."
"We had a reaction when they scored, so character-wise that is a massive plus."
