Lamela to leave Spurs in player-plus-cash deal for Bryan Gil

The swap deal between Erik Lamela and Bryan Gil is close to coming to fruition. Tottenham will pay a further 25 million euros to secure the signing of the Spain international.

As a result, Lamela will be on his way to Sevilla. Those at the Sanchez-Pizjuan will acquire a talented player but one who has only shown his quality in dribs and drabs, and is yet to fully establish himself at European's highest level.

'Mundo Deportivo' reported that the Argentina international will sign with his new club for three seasons, until June 2024. 'EFE' have assured that Lamela has his contract already agreed with Sevilla, part of which includes a wage cut in order to complete the move.

When the signing becomes official, the forward will become the second reinforcement in Julen Lopetegui's side for next season, after goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.
