Lacazette makes Ligue 1 history in Nice win

When Mikel Arteta joined Arsenal, he made quite a few changes that involved departures of important players. Within three years of his arrival, Alexandre Lacazette, who had joined from Olympique Lyon in the summer of 2017 for €53 million, returned to France as a free agent.

After three seasons since then, the decision could not have worked out better for the striker, who, on Sunday, celebrated the 7th 'hat trick' of his career.

He scored against Nice on matchday 13 of the French domestic campaign. In the 4th minute, he opened the scoring on a pass from Clinton Mata and, in the 41st minute, he extended the lead with an assist from Said Benrahma. In both plays, what stood out about him was his good positioning in the box and his ability to quickly chip the ball, precisely the concepts that experience has established for him.

In personal terms, Alexandre Lacazette reached the 150-goal barrier in Ligue 1 and surpassed it with one more. With Lyon, he has already hit the back of the net 190 times in 365 appearances with 40 assists to boot. The club where he became popular and in whose coffers he left so much money with his transfer to Arsenal, currently enjoys him as a leader of the dressing room for his character and his level.
