We take a look at the players who have impressed in Spain's top flight during last weekend's round of fixtures.

GK: Jan Oblak (Atletico Madrid)

The Slovenian goalkeeper denied rivals Real Madrid from leaving the Bernabeu with a victory on Sunday, making countless saves to keep the scoreline at 1-1.

RB: Antonio Barragan (Real Betis)

His assist for Sergio Leon's goal showed how much of a threat the Spaniard is down the right flank as he takes his place in our XI for the second week in a row.

CB: Victor Laguardia (Alaves)

It was the defender who opened the scoring in Alaves' 2-0 victory over Getafe and Laguardia also kept up with his duties at the back, keeping Jorge Molina and Angel Luis Rodriguez Diaz quiet throughout.

The defender saved his side from a dangerous Espanyol team who have improved significantly in recent matches, sniffing out all the danger in the air and on the pitch.

LB: Marcelo (Real Madrid)

A threat going forward as well as defensively, Marcelo was a force down that left wing for Madrid against their city rivals.

CM: Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona)

In Sergio Busquets' absence, his team-mate stepped up to the plate, dominating the Barca midfield to stop Leganes doing any more damage.

CM: Stanislav Lobotka (Celta Vigo)

Undoubtedly, one of Celta's best players in their 4-0 victory over Sevilla. Although he doesn't occupy the headlines with goals, Lobotka's game management and creation was exemplary.

RW: Rodrigo (Valencia)

The player is in scintillating form at the moment and is banging on the door for a place in Spain's World Cup team. His mobility against Espanyol drove Didac Vila crazy.

LW: José Luis Morales (Levante)

The captain has Levante's best interests at heart and created danger in every opportunity he could against Las Palmas.

F: Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

His hat-trick sunk Leganes as Barcelona went on to secure their 38th-game unbeaten in La Liga. The stand-out performer of last weekend's games.

F: Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo)

The former Liverpool player showed Lopetegui why he should be on the plane to Russia, scoring a hat-trick to destroy Sevilla's chances of going into their Champions League tie with any confidence.
