Alvaro Medran began his career in the Real Madrid academy. He began in the C team then got promoted to Real Madrid Castilla and ended up making five first team appearances. He scored a goal in the 2014-15 campaign when Ancelotti was actually in charge, just like now.
The midfielder, now at Al-Taawoun in Saudi Arabia, talked about how he sees his former club ahead of the Super Cup final against Athletic Bilbao in Riyadh.
"The top European clubs are a step ahead physically. Real Madrid have that amazing midfield, Benzema, the signing of Alaba has helped them and Vinicius who is shining. I think they look good," he summarised.
Medran was full of praise for the midfield he was once at. "Kroos and Modric have always had that talent. Then they have so much professionalism, they take care of every detail... They aren't rated highly enough," he opined.
The Al-Taawoun man continued to praise Modric to the skies: "Despite his age, he's one of the best, if not the best at Real Madrid. I hope he stays for many more years, it's a pleasure watching him."
Medran learnt a lot both from Modric and Kroos. "They teach that if you want to learn and I wanted to. Sometimes we had conversations and they explained things to me. I had my ears open wide so I can learn from both," Medran concluded.
