Konate backs Salah for Ballon d'Or as Liverpool star's stellar season continues

Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate has tipped teammate Mohamed Salah as a strong contender for the 2025 Ballon d'Or, highlighting the forward's remarkable performances this season.

"I really hope we will achieve great things this season because if he keeps going like this, I think at the end of the season he can win the Ballon d'Or," Konate claimed. The Egyptian star currently leads both the Premier League's goal and assist charts, showcasing his pivotal role in Liverpool's title challenge. 

Salah's impressive tally of 20 goals and 17 assists in just 26 appearances across all competitions has positioned him as the frontrunner for the prestigious award. Konate further praised Salah's consistent excellence, remarking, "Everything he has done since the start of the season, even since he's played for Liverpool - it's crazy what he's done."

With Liverpool leading both the Premier League and their Champions League group, Salah's contributions have been instrumental in the team's success under new manager Arne Slot. As the Reds pursue domestic and European glory, Salah's performances continue to strengthen his case for becoming only the second Liverpool player to win the Ballon d'Or, following Michael Owen's triumph in 2001.
