The 31 year-old has enjoyed a rollercoaster career at Liverpool, making himself an instant hero on his Anfield debut when he saved a penalty against Stoke City before committing numerous high-profile errors over the following seasons.
Mignolet has played 204 times for the Reds, but lost his place last season after the £67 million arrival of Brazil international Alisson from Roma and played just 180 minutes for the Reds last season in their League and FA Cup defeats to Chelsea and Wolves respectively.
The goalkeeper suggested before that he would be looking to move on this summer as he searches for regular first-team football, but manager Jürgen Klopp's recent comments have suggested that the Belgian may now be going nowhere ahead of the next campaign.
When asked if Mignolet would be staying, the German manager replied: "Yes, [it's] how I've heard. I've had a lot of conversations in the last couple of years, months - not weeks. Before we left [for the summer break] we had a talk. I would say yes [he stays].
"At a club like Liverpool you need two number ones in the club and we have that with Ali and Simon. It's a good situation for the club and a situation you should have and that's why everything is fine from my point of view."
