The player became a fans' favourite during the second-half of last season, as he made 13 appearances for the 'Magpies' as he helped them to finish 10th in the Premier League when it looked as though they could be relegated earlier in the season.
The Brazilian netted twice in that time, and was praised widely for adding some much-needed pace and quality in the final third for Rafa Benitez's side.
The 'Toon' have already signed goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who was also on loan at the club last season, and Ki Seung-Yeung from relegated Swansea City as Benitez looks to improve his side ahead of the Premier League season.

The club will now complete preseaon fixtures around England before starting their Premier League campaign against Tottenham on 11th August.
