Keita Barcelona's back-up if Gundogan doesn't go

Keita wanted to stay at Liverpool. However, the Reds are not going to renew his contract and, when it ends at the end of this season, the Guinean will leave the side.

FC Barcelona are aware of this and they are working on it. According to Fabrizio Romano, the African midfielder could be an alternative for the middle of the park in case Ilkay Gundogan doesn't go to the Camp Nou, who is their current priority.

Despite the German being the favourite, Keita would also fit the requirements well, as his contract is up in June, meaning he would arrive on a free.

It's worth mentioning that competition for the current Liverpool man is ferocious. Club like Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and RB Leipzig are following him.
