Lugo manager Juanfran García expressed his doubts when he was asked about his position being under question. It comes after his side has started the season with one win and four defeats in their first five games.
"It was an even game and if it weren't for the penalty it would have finished 0-0. In general, the team has been good, better with the ball than without it. We've barely needed our goalkeepers", he said in a post-match press conference.
The Lugo manager supported the referee's decision to send off Carlos pita and Xavi Torres as well as the penalty that wen on to decide the match. He did criticise the lack of booking for Mallorca in the second half though, as they put in several professional fouls that went unpunished.
Juanfran was asked about whether he thought the club had doubt's about him after he saved Lugo from relegation in the final six games of last season.
"I'm surprised, partly because I haven't heard anything and partly because we are only in gameweek five. I doubt that it's true. We are very calm, we trust in the players, and they are practically the same as last season, we know them well and we know what they can do", he said.
