Jota proves he wants an undisputed place in Arne Slot's XI

Liverpool enjoyed a 4-1 friendly win over Sevilla at Anfield on Saturday. A goal-fest started with Diogo Jota claiming his place in Arne Slot's side. The Portuguese forward wants to be a first choice, not the first on the bench.

The 27-year-old scored a beautiful goal to open the scoring in the debut of the Dutch coach. It only took a cross from a free-kick to set the ball rolling.

Trent Alexander-Arnold found Diogo Jota at the far post. The No.20, set up by a mismatch in his opponent's marking, left-footed a direct volley into the top corner of Orjan Nyland's net, who could only look on as a statue.

Luis Diaz's brace and Trey Nioni's goal-scoring strike wrapped up Liverpool's victory in the half-marathon at Anfield. The Reds take on Las Palmas at 18.00 CEST to close their pre-season on a high note.
