John having medical at Swansea

It was reported earlier in the week that the 'Swans' were interested in the 23-year-old, but it appears they have now followed up on that initial interest. 

John joined Rangers last summer on a loan deal, before that was made permanent in December. He went on to make a total of 31 appearances for the Glasgow side last season. 

However, Jon Flanagan looks to have nailed down the starting spot under new manager Steven Gerrard, and John will have to move elsewhere to find regular football. 

Having come through the ranks at Cardiff, John will return to Wales, albeit for their bitter rivals. It's been a busy day at Swansea, with Federico Fernandez looking likely to leave for Newcastle.
