At Tokyo's stock exchange's, the Nikkei, open of play this Friday, stocks fell around 1.59%. However, investors' general annoyance did not drown out the good feelings provoked thanks to the 'Blue Samurais', who are the reason for the renewed interest in football in the Asian country.
Digital publicity company 'CyberAgent', who are showing all of the World Cup games live for free on their Abema platform, closed today with a rise of 3.95%. This rise comes after the announcement that nearly 30 million people used the platform in the week of the 27th November, when Japan played their first two games.
The company which specialises in clothes and sports shoes 'Mizuno', one of the team's sponsors, also rose by 0.98%.
The shares of the channel 'Hub', who also show the games live and have around one hundred offices in Japan, was revalued today 7.62% up, while last week they managed to rise more than 25% in two days after Japan's win over Germany.
Japan's win over Spain, especially after the side's loss to Costa Rica in the previous game, was more of a shock than the win over Germany in their first game.
The game, which ended 2-1 for the Asian side, means the 'Blue Samarais' are through as first in the group. Their next game will be against Croatia in the last-16.
