Inter Miami's 4-3 win over Toronto to advance to the last 16 of the Leagues Cup left a record-breaking Jordi Alba, who, for the first time, provided four assists in a single match.
"I've always been more of an offensive player than a defensive player, I like to give assists. It's the first time I've provided four, I made three for Barcelona before," Alba told reporters after the match.
The full-back highlighted the leap in quality that the team has made since his arrival: "When I came here, I saw a team that was at the bottom of the table, but that had more quality than that. This year, we have signed important people, young people who are taking a step forward".
"You get to know each other better and you have that link that with Leo Messi, Luis Suarez and Busi -Sergio Busquets-, who have played together for almost ten years, it's normal. But there are other team-mates of enormous quality who work well, who know how to listen and I think we've formed a very good team," said the player from L'Hospitalet.
