'It's always good to be linked with Juventus'

Since joining from Sunderland in 2017, van Aanholt has impressed at Selhurst Park by mixing consistently solid defending with energetic bursts forward in attack on the left flank.

In fact, his performances last season meant that he re-earned a call up to the Dutch national side last season and it has been rumoured that his good performances have reached as far as Turin.

When asked about the speculation by a reporter for 'Sky Sports', he was clearly flattered by the prospect of lining up alongside Cristiano Ronaldo but is not getting too carried away.

"It is always good to be linked with big clubs like Juventus. It is a sign that I am in a good way." the former Sunderland left-back said.

"I am feeling good and I want to keep doing that, but I am a Palace player and I am looking forward to the season.

"It is just a rumour and unless there is really people coming in then I will never worry about it."

Provided he doesn't make the switch to the Italian capital, he will be looking forward to playing against Fulham in Crystal Palace's first game of the Premier League season.
