In recent weeks the press has reported several names as possible replacements for Xavi Hernandez, who announced that he will no longer be at the reins of the Catalan giants at the end of the season after a poor season.
One of the coaches who has been most talked about as a possible new coach is former Bayern Munich and German national team coach Hansi Flick, who is even said to be learning Spanish in case he gets a call from the Catalan club.
One of the players in the Barcelona squad who knows him well is Ilkay Gundogan, who has played under Flick with Germany. The former Manchester City midfielder spoke about the rumours that the German could be the one at the reins of the 'Cules' next season.
"It’s not my area but all I can say is that Hansi Flick is not only a great person but also a great coach. He arrived in the national team in a very difficult situation, but he was always honest and I respected him a lot," he said.
