Ilgiz Tantashev to referee Spain v Morocco Olympics semifinal

The Spanish U23 team qualified for the semi-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after beating Japan 3-0 and will therefore be in the fight for the medals. Their opponents in the semi-finals will be Morocco.

FIFA has already announced the referee for the match against the 'Lions of Atlas'. The referee is Ilgiz Tantashev, who will referee 'La Rojita' in the decisive match after having been in charge of 3 matches in the tournament.

The Uzbek was chosen for the group stage matches France-Guinea in Group A and Paraguay-Mali in Group D. He was also selected for the quarter-final between France and Argentina, which ended in controversy due to a brawl between players from both teams. 

The other semi-final, between the French and Egypt, has Said Martinez assigned as the main man. The Honduran confirms the non-representation of a European referee in these knockout rounds of the competition.
