Manchester City visit the Parc de Princes just days after being crowned champions of the Carabao Cup. Pep Guardiola appeared in the press conference ahead of the CL clash and analysed in detail how his side are feeling as well as what form PSG are in. He also had something to say about Mbappe and Neymar.
“We know we are going to suffer in both games and they will have chances. What we can do is create our own opportunities because we're not going to play scared. We want to keep hold of the ball to gain stability", the City boss stated.
Guardiola stressed City's presence in the semi-finals "for the second time". "We are not the elite in the competition, but we want to be there because the owners have made steps to improve in England and in Europe when they took over the club a decade ago", he continued.
For the City boss, the "Champions League is the most beautiful", but he believes the Premier League "is the most important". "The more you get older you realise it's difficult to win titles. If you start the next season telling me I have to win one title, doesn't matter which one, I say it's so difficult. The Carabao isn't the most important but is so nice."
He did have something to say about Neymar, referring to his exit from Barcelona. "I'm sure if Neymar had stayed longer in Barcelona they would have won two or three Champions Leagues more. I'm a big admirer because he helped to make football better", he claimed.
"Foden and Mbappe play in different positions. Both are young and incredibly skilled, they are in competely different positions so it is difficult to compare. What is important is PSG will be so happy to have Mbappe and you can't imagine how happy we are to have Phil. He's a City supporter, he's in the national team", Guardiola explained, speaking this time about PSG's French forward.
Guardiola concluded saying that "everyone is ready and happy" and that they know what they have to do: "We go there to win. Game by game."
