Neymar believes the 2022 World Cup will be the last of his career. He has not yet officially confirmed it, but, in an interview that forms part of a documentary by 'DAZN', he marked next summer as the date after which he will no longer have the energy to "deal with football". This, moreover, will lead him to give more than 100% in his next commitments with the 'Canarinha'.
"I think 2022 will be my last World Cup. I see it as the last one because I don't know if I have the mental strength to deal with football anymore, so I will do everything I can to go out well, to do everything I can to win with my country, to make my biggest dream come true since I was a little boy. And I hope I can achieve it," he said.
The post-2022 World Cup, should the much-debated proposal for a biennial World Cup not be approved, will be in 2026, when the PSG star will be 34. If he maintains his level, that is an acceptable age to continue at the elite level. Currently, Messi is 34 and Cristiano Ronaldo is 36.
In any case, from Neymar's statements it can be interpreted that everything will depend on his future in the years to come. If he continues to feel at ease at both club and international level, perhaps he will be strong enough to achieve another international feat. Brazil's results in the upcoming matches will also be an important factor
