"I loved what he did" - Gavi tells Flick to introduce Torre instead of him

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick stressed on Sunday after defeating Valencia (7-1) in La Liga EA Sports that his team needed “fresh legs”, and celebrated the good game of the less regular players.

“We saw the players very focused. For me it was a perfect match, because we saw a lot of things from players who play less,” said the German coach at the press conference after the match at the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys.

Among the less regular players who started the game, Fermin Lopez, who scored two goals and provided two assists, stood out, of whom Flick said he showed “a great level”, with a lot of “dynamism”, both in pressing and in finishing in front of goal. “I love Fermin,” he added.

The German coach liked the “hunger” of his players to keep looking for more goals until the end of the game, although he recalled that for him “the most important thing is the points and not the goals”.

He also praised the good atmosphere in the dressing room and gave as an example the team spirit of Gavi, who on Sunday did not play because, when Flick was going to introduce him, he told the coach that Pablo Torre, who lacks playing time under the German coach, should do so.

"I loved what Gavi did tonight… I spoke about bringing him in for the last 15 minutes and he said: Coach, bring Pablo Torre in. It's something great. I love Gavi, this is beautiful to see," said the German coach.
