England lost 2-1 against France in the World Cup quarter-final. Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game for the Three Lions from the penalty spot, and could have changed things for his side if he had not missed the second spot kick that the referee gave England.
Birmingham striker Troy Deeney is still thinking about what happened, even though it did not surprise him: "I don't want to seem like an arrogant know-it-all here, but I knew that Harry Kane was going to score his first penalty against France and miss the second", he said to 'The Sun'.
The player, who thinks that he is an expert from the spot, knows perfectly well what is going to happen when he sees the striker before stepping up to take: "When I watch a game on TV, I can tell you if a player is going to score or not almost 100% of the time. I've taken penalties for years, and like anyone else who has done it a lot, I've missed a fair few. For the second penalty, something wasn't right".
"Kane didn't have something. His breathing, he was looking everywhere... It didn't surprise me that he missed", he went on to say.
Deeney saw he was annoyed and ended up calling it: miss. "I'd love to know what his heart-beat was. My wild-guess would be around 85-100 bpm for the first them between 145-160 for the second, but it's not unusual for Kane, quite the opposite. He's England's all-time top goalscorer and one of the most consistent penalty-takers that I've ever seen", he finished off by saying.
