Francesco Totti does not understand why Mohamed Salah has never won the Ballon d'Or. He knows him well from their time together at Roma. As 'Giallorossi', they met on the pitch 37 times. In an interview for the Egyptian channel 'dmctv', he praised Jurgen Klopp's player, who is currently busy giving his all for Liverpool.
"Salah is one of the ten best players in the world, I don't understand why he has never won the Ballon d'Or. If I was the president of a club, I would pay more than 200 million euros for him. I have a great relationship with Mohamed. He is an exceptional guy, humble, nice and always willing," he commented.
"He had a great season with Roma and I knew that, if he went to Liverpool, he would become an even stronger player. He had a very private life. He trained and went home to his wife," he added. When it came to comparing him to Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he admitted that these two great figures of the sport are different.
"Salah's version playing for Liverpool is among the best. Messi and Ronaldo are different. Messi is more technical and Ronaldo is more of a team player. Honestly, in 30 years of career, I have never understood the criteria of the Ballon d'Or, if it is a collective or an individual trophy," said the legendary Totti, who is in love with Salah's quality, but not so much with the Ballon d'Or.
