"I didn't win the Champions League with Barca, it was the players"

The 2-1 result in the first leg means that all is not done and dusted for Man City in Germany. The 'Sky Blues' travel for the second leg against Dortmund keeping in mind their failures in recent Champions League campaigns where they went in as the favourites.

Guardiola spoke about this in his press conference and asked to value more the times in which his teams have reached the quarter and semi-finals than the titles: "Maybe, important maybe is in ten years all the time I am in quarter finals and semi finals. I didn't win the Champions League, we won the Champions League, I didn't play, I tried to seduce them to do it. I didn't win it with Barcelona, they won it. I was there to have the idea.

"This is a business to win. If you don't win I am a failure and if you win, it's how good is Pep. We won 27 of 29 and I rotate 28 games. The first time we lose you tell me why I rotate the team."

Obviously, Pep also had his say on Erling Haaland, although he concentrated more on Dortmund as a team. "We analyse Dortmund as a team, not just one player. We knew his quality. We won the first, we go to try and win. I don't know what will happen, but we go to win."

And, to conclude the press conference, he played down the importance of being possibly eliminated. "Players are human beings, everybody forgets. We do what we do all season, analyse, read it, do what to do to win the game. If we manage it, great, if not, we will have more opportunities to try to do so."
