Hummels will determine Boateng's future

Boateng is the protagonist of one of the sagas of the summer in Germany. Bayern Munich have had his departure in mind for weeks. They had already announced his price to then later reduce it and make clear that their intention was for the defender to leave the club. 

Now, 'Bild' states that the possibility of Hummels leaving to go elsewhere has appeared. In that case, the board could change plans and tell Boateng that he can stay to avoid having to spend money in the summer transfer window on another defender. 

The footballers have been sharing the dressing room for the past three seasons. The ex-City man arrived in the 2011-12 campaign while Hummels joined in 2016-17.

Hummels' departure could leave around 44 million euros in the Munich club's coffers. His market value is much greater than Boateng's so the board would prefer to Hummels to leave the Bavarian outfit.
