After the match, Hughton spoke to the media to express his disappointment at the reaction of Burnley fans, and has since called for all parties to move on from the incident.
He told 'Sky Sports': ''We have gone through a fairly long process with Gaetan and certainly what he has wanted to do is to get on with playing football. What I can't control is anything that is said outside of that.''
''I said what I had to say after the game on Saturday and at this moment all my thoughts are onto the next game because this is the most important thing.''
''As is Gaetan's [focus] which was shown by the performance and he has got to look forward to other performances this season that will very much put it into perspective that he wants to play.''
He added: ''This will probably be the last I say on it. The FA have been excellent right the way through the processes that we went through. The communication with the FA has been excellent.''
Hughton concluded: ''But we are all very keen now to move on and get on with what is, at the moment, the most important thing which is trying to get some points against Manchester United.''
