"Hopefully luck will be on our side, not like in the Copa del Rey match..."

Midfielder Koke Resurreccion will play his 39th derby against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. It is the team he has faced the most times in his career.

Koke spoke to Atletico's official media before visiting the eternal rivals and only wishes it would be different to the last Copa derby, which ended 3-1 in favour of the 'Merengues'.

"The last Copa del Rey clash against Madrid we played a great game. The small details, being focused.... We have to play a perfect game to beat Madrid at their stadium. Hopefully luck will be on our side, as it wasn't in the last derby", he said.

And he explained that this Madrid-Atletico game is special: "It's a different game. It has nothing to do with how you are in the standings or your state of mind, but it's good to come here with positive results. These are very intense games, hopefully we can get the three points. We want to be at the top of the table and to do that we have to win.

Koke sees the team as better than a while ago. "We are in a better momentum. Before we had chances and the balls didn't go in. Now we are more clinical and we don't concede. That is noticeable when it comes to winning games", he said.
