The pair played together for the 'Gunners' from 2005 to 2008, before Hleb left the Emirates to move to Barcelona and Fabregas later followed suit, doing the same in 2011.
However the pair have had differing career paths since then. Hleb made only 19 league appearances for the 'Blaugrana' before falling down the leagues with a succession of short term moves to teams including Birmingham and Konyaspor and is now in his third spell at BATE.
Fabregas, on the other hand, spent three successful years in Catalonia before returning to the Premier League with Chelsea in 2014 for a fee of €33 million. he has also won the European Championships and World Cup with his national team.
When Hleb was asked by 'The Telegraph' about his reunion with his illustrious former colleague he replied: ''It will be nice to see Cesc again,'' fondly remembering their time together.
''We've been messaging each other. When I see him, I will ... [makes a mock punching gesture] no, I'm joking.''
The Spaniard took the Belarus international's comments in the right spirits though and replied on twitter. He wrote: ''That's nice, Alex'', and accompanied the message with some emojis to show his amusement.
