Joe Hart, representing England, Joe Anyon (Chesterfield), Jack Butland (Stoke) and Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) carried the England great's coffin and were among the hundreds of mourners that attended the funeral.
Sir Geoff Hurst and Sir Booby Charlton, members of the 1966 World Cup-winning squad that included Banks, were also present, with Hurst saying that it was "a very sad day".
Stoke City chairman Peter Coates made a statement to mourners, saying "We regard him as our adopted, famous son. He was fully integrated into the community at all levels and he was at home with us and we were at home with him."
The service was held on the 47th anniversary of one of Banks' most memorable performances - a victory over Chelsea in the 1972 League Cup final.
