Gundogan set to join Man City until June 2025 after reaching agreement with Cityzens

Ilkay Gundogan is hours away from becoming a new Manchester City player... again. The German footballer will return to the Sky Blues once his link with Barcelona comes to an end this summer.

Media such as ‘RAC1’, ‘Onda Cero’ or journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the verbal agreement reached between the player and the British club for his return to the Etihad Stadium.

Gundogan will arrive at Manchester City on a free transfer, as Barcelona have decided to release the German midfielder in order to sign Dani Olmo.

The opportunity has arisen in the last few days for the Cityzens, who were not planning to sign their former player until last season. However, Barcelona's need to let him go, and for free, represents a market opportunity for Pep Guardiola's side.

The coach from Santpedor will thus recover the player who has been one of his most important assets in the Premier League and a player eternally undervalued, both at City and Barcelona.
