Real Betis will be able to enjoy Andrés Guardado for at least one more season. The Mexican player decided to continue at the club despite the opportunities that were presented to him during these months.
Alejandro Irragorri, general director of Atlas, acknowledged in a press conference that the Mexican side went for Guardado with the intention of signing him weeks ago, but he said no.
The side from Guadalajara was where the midfielder started his career, from where he left at 20 to move to Europe, where he has really made a resume.
"I personally sat with him and he explained the context of his life. Despite his affection for the club and the city, he declined to come to Atlas. It's quite a personal context", he revealed.
