The defender, who spent a brief spell at English side Wigan earlier in his career, does not see any reason why Sweden should change their playing style as they head in to their quarter final match against the Three Lions.
Sweden have been characterised by a solid defence so far in the tournament, conceding in only one match: their 2-1 defeat to Germany in the group stage.
The team have therefore been willing to give up possession to the opposition team, having only 33% of the ball in their last two matches against Switzerland and Mexico.
Speaking in the build up to the game, Granqvist, who has scored two penalties in Russia this summer, believes that their efficient style will serve them well as it has done in the last matches.
"Normally the other teams have better players on paper. We let them have the ball in the places we want them to have the ball.
"If you look at the games we have played, of course the opponents have more ball possession, but we have created more chances. This is how we play, this is what we need to do."
Sweden again go in to this match as underdogs, but can take great pride in the fact that they have reached a first World Cup quarter final since 1994.
The match will take place in Samara on Saturday, with the winner going through to play either Russia or Croatia in the semi finals.
