The French international let slip on social media on Wednesday that he was heading East to discuss a move. Galatasaray have since confirmed on their official twitter account that they are in discussions to sign the player.
The fee for the 31-year-old is believed to be somwhere around the £2.5m mark, which will still represent a profit for the 'Swans' who signed the player on a free from Lyon in 2014.
Despite a promising start to his career in South Wales, Gomis fell out of favour and spent last season on loan with Marseille in Ligue 1, scoring 20 goals in 31 games. He now looks set to leave, with the player so confident that a move will go through that he has already been pictured holding a Galatasaray scarf.
Swansea are understood to be close to bringing in Chelsea's England U21 striker Tammy Abraham in on loan as a replacement for Gomis, with the deal agreed in principle. That move is expected to be swiftly completed in the next few days following England's elimination from the U21 European Championship.
