In the Northern Irish Premiership, we saw a very unusual incident on the field of play. A goalkeeper was sent off after hitting a teammate.
Aaron McCarey, the Glentoran keeper, and Bobby Burns, a defender, were the men involved. The goalkeeper criticised his defender for how he defended the goal.
After Colaraine made it 2-2 with just under 10 minutes to go, McCarey lost his cool and went after his teammate.
The goalkeeper went after Burns, hit him in the face and sent him to the floor. The keeper was given his marching orders by the referee.
