Brewster caught the eye at the recent tournament, scoring no less than eight times as England claimed the title. That tally meant the 17-year-old finished as the top scorer in the competition and whilst onlookers have urged clubs to give their talented youngsters a chance in the firt team, Liverpool U18 boss Gerrard has urged patience.
"We've got wonderful footballers in the first team, especially in the attacking positions, so it's not easy (to break into the side)," he explained.
"It's getting more and more difficult. These kids have to be world class now."
Brewster is due back in training on Thursday, where he will rejoin Liverpool's U23 squad and Gerrard's advice to the youngster was simple: work hard and score goals.
"The message for Rhian is: 'Well done. You've been superb and deserve all the plaudits you get. How do you improve now?'" he explained.
"We want Rhian Brewster in a successful Liverpool team. We want him firing for the under-23s and, basically, making sure Jurgen [Klopp] is taking notice of his performances - that's all he can do.
"I think if he's got any dreams and aspirations of playing higher than that level then he needs to play at a consistent level and score goals heavily. That's how first-team managers take note."
