Gabi and Torres lifted the trophy together

Torres is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, but Gabi ensured he would leave with one more incredible memory to recall.

Gabi opted to share the honour of lifting the trophy with the experienced striker, who is considered to be Mr Atletico Madrid.

His failure to win a trophy with his boyhood club had long haunted Torres, but his wait is now over, with Antoine Griezmann's dazzling display helping 'Los Colchoneros' to victory at the Stade de Lyon.

Torres replaced Griezmann late on in the game as he was given what could be his farewell appearance.
