Clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona have stated interest in signing the Ivorian midfielder before, but 'Sky Sports' reports the Premier League new-boys Fulham want to complete a surprise move for the player.
Seri, who has played over 100 times in his three seasons French club Nice, is understood to be moving away from Ligue 1 this transfer window given that he has only one year left on his contract.
The midfielder's £35 million release clause expires on 15th July, with the potential clubs looking to make their move after then to get the player at a knock-down price.
Chelsea's interest in the player is not fixed though, as their managerial situation remains unclear. There have been reports for weeks the Maurizio Sarri would be replacing Antonio Conte at the Bridge, but the former Juventus manager is still in the post as the team start their preseason preparations.
Man City are also thought to show interest according to the same source, but their priority in midfield is still Napoli's Jorginho.
Should Fulham pull off the signing of the highly-rated Seri, it would be a major coup for the Cottagers, as they look to cement their Premier League status after a four year absence from the top flight.
