Ex-Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis footballer Jordi Amat became Indonesian thanks to his grandmother and has become king of the island of Siau, one of the biggest archipelagos in the world.
"When I was young, my grandmother told me that I was a prince, but I thought it was an old wives' tale and nothing more. It's not going to change my life that much, but I honestly can't believe it", the footballer who was born in Canet de Mar said when talking to 'TV3'.
He then went on to explain what his new title means: "It's not on the same level as what we consider to be a prince, and it's not comparable to the kings in Spain".
However, the defender admitted that he will try and carry out good with his new social role: "But now I want to work for the people and to bring positive economic change because there's a lot to do on the island".
