Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois
Although his opposite number, Hugo Lloris, has more clean sheets at the tournament, Courtois has been highly impressive, and more consistent over the season than Lloris. The Chelsea shotstopper was in fine form against Brazil, making nine saves.
Right-back: Benjamin Pavard
The young defender has been a break-through star at this World Cup, topping off solid defensive work with an absolute screamer against Argentina. His level hasn't gone unnoticed, and it is reported that Bayern have sealed a deal to sign him.
Centre-back: Raphael Varane
The Real Madrid man, similarly to Pavard, has chipped in with a goal as well as being solid defence in Russia, heading in against Uruguay to help his nation to the semi-finals.
Centre-back: Jan Vertonghen
The central defender is an assured presence at the heart of the Belgian defence, and has even shown the versatility to slot in at left-back against Brazil, highlighting his importance to the team.
Left-back: Lucas Hernandez
Any defender who works under Diego Simeone is bound to provide a solidity to the back line, and Hernandez is no exception. At his best against Uruguay, the left-back has been consistently sound.
Midfield: N'Golo Kante
Who wouldn't want Kante in their team? The defensive midfielder is known for having the work-rate of two players, and he is one of the best players in the world in his position.
Midfield: Paul Pogba
Alongside Kante, Pogba slots into the French team to create a dynamic midfield. Often criticised, Pogba has delivered on the world stage in Russia, creating at least one chance in every game he has played in.
Midfield: Kevin De Bruyne
Another shoe-in. The playmaker is fast developing into one of the best players in the world, and he demonstrated his abilities with a fantastic goal against Brazil.
Forward: Kylian Mbappe
There was no doubt about the PSG forward's quality before the World Cup - any player worth £162m has something about them - but Mbappe has introduced himself to the world in Russia. A brace against Argentina demonstrated just how lethal the young forward is.
Forward: Romelu Lukaku
The Manchester United striker, like Pogba, has proved doubters wrong with Belgium. Employed in various roles by Roberto Martinez, he has shown his ability to both score goals, bagging twice against Tunisia, and hold up play effectively to create chances for teammates.
Forward: Eden Hazard
Hazard has outshone his rivals in Russia, hitting his peak at a time where Real Madrid are on the hunt for a new 'Galactico' to join. Could his performances earn him a move to the Spanish giants?
