Former United player signs for Venezia

Former United goalkeeper, Sergio Romero is back in Serie A. Venezia officially announced the Argentinian's signing after his Manchester United departure at the end of last season- He made just 17 appearances and now, he is looking to have more playing time in Venice. 

"Venezia FC is pleased to announce the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero, 34, on a free transfer. Romero is Argentina’s all-time most-capped goalkeeper and last played for Manchester United", says the official announcement. 

The goalkeeper is a great signing for a team that recently got promoted to Serie A. The signing will most likely excite the fans, that already know who he is thanks to his time in the Premier League as well as his performances for Argentina. In addition to that, he already has Serie A experience.

Until now, Niki Mäenpää started in Venzia's goal. Sergio Romero's signing means that his starting position is seriously threatened as the Argentinian keeper has plenty more experience, however, he will have to prove in training that he is in good form to start.
