Just when things seem to be improving in Europe, news has come in from Bolivia of the first death of a footballer from coronavirus in the last week.
It is Deibert Frans Roman Guzman, a 25 year-old player for Universitario del Beni. The footballer wass living with his uncle and father who have both also died in the last few days.
Terrible news for a footballer who ended up playing in the age group category sides for Bolivia and who almost joined Nacional Potosi, one of the most important clubs in the country.
According to Bolivian press sources, the player, who was playing in a lower league, lived in the area of Paititi with his father, Belisario Roman and his uncle Luis Carmelo Roman, manager of Deportivo Perejique.
"The Bolivian FA expresses its most sincere condolences to the friends and family of Deibert Roman Guzman and we ask God for strength in those difficult moments," the Bolivian FA published in a statement.
