Finnbogason spoils Gnabry's day

With a goal after 28 seconds and another just before the final whistle, Augsburg spoiled the Gnabry show. The Bayern winger once again showed he was in good form assisting Lewandowski before putting Bayern 1-2 up with a brilliant slalom. Augsburg had the last laugh though.

The Bundesliga this season is one of the most exciting in recent times. Up to now, Dortmund have generally got close, but then faded away.

This time it was against Augsburg, who are towards the foot of the table, who tested Kovac's team. Furthermore, just a minute from time, Bayern lost two points.

Serge Gnabry, 24, was once again decisive in the clash. He had put the away side 1-2 up after falling behind thanks to an assist and a goal.

After 278 seconds, Richter gave the home side the lead to make clear that it would not be an easy ride for the defending champions. However, you need a lot more than that to defeat Bayern. Especially with Lewandowski and Gnabry up front.

Before that, there was bad news for the visitors. Sule injured his knee and had to be replaced by Alaba after 10 minutes. But, just four minutes later, Lewandowski headed home Gnabry's fabulous cross. That goal made Bundesliga history.

The early leveller made it look like Bayern would go on to win. It could have been confirmed shortly before half-time, but Gnabry was denied by a post. Four minutes after the interval, he was not to be denied.

He drove, he dummied, looked for a gap on the edge of the area and smacked home a lovely left footed shot into the far corner.

However, Finnbogason, just after Muller had let Augsburg off the hook, the Icelandic player broke Bayern's hearts.
