Rayo Vallecano striker Radamel Falcao, who missed the last two matches against Cadiz and Sevilla with a muscle injury, is available for Monday's clash with Real Madrid. He completed the last two training sessions with his teammates without any problems.
Falcao's return is important for his coach, Andoni Iraola, who went into the game against Sevilla with just one striker due to Falcao's injury and Randy Nteka's suspension. Nteka will still be suspended for the Real Madrid clash.
Despite being available, Falcao is not expected to start against Real Madrid in Vallecas. Sergio Camello is expected to lead the Rayo line again.
Falcao has played six times (four for Atletico Madrid and two for Rayo) against Real Madrid in his career, but he has only won once. It was in the Copa del Rey final on 17th May 2013 which Atletico won 1-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Last season, for Rayo, he lost both games, but in the first, on 6th November 2021, he scored his team's only goal in a 2-1 defeat.
