The defender has received a six-year ban for match-fixing after seeking out intentional bookings with Lincoln during the FA Cup last season.
A tribunal held by the Football Association heard that the 26-year-old had attempted to get yellow carded in two matches, against Burnley and Ipswich Town, so as to influence a betting market.
Betting firms noted unusual bets being were placed on Wood being double-booked, two of which were by people with a connection to the former Lincoln player.
The FA judgement read: ''In each case those individuals' bets were atypical both in relation to their personal betting history - none had previously placed bets in the caution betting market; and in relation to the caution betting market - the size of the bets made them stand out.''
In addition to the five-year ban for the offences, he received an additional year for admitting to betting on the outcome of matches, and of passing on information. Wood has been suspended until the 8th March 2024.
