Everton bolster attack with Demarai Gray

Rafa Benitez has a new reinforcement. The Spanish coach was looking for an attacking player and the Toffees have got themselves a winger: Demarai Gray.

Everton reported his signing on social media. The player has committed himself to the English club until June 2024, with an option to extend his contract for another year if they are convinced by his performance.

Gray said he is looking forward to playing in England again. He has already had played for Leicester and Birmingham. “I’m delighted to be back in the Premier League at such a big club and I’m excited to play with the team and get to work,” Gray said.

Gray believes he will grow a lot at Everton.“Speaking to the manager and [Director of Football] Marcel Brands, I had a really good feel for the Club and I feel this is a place where I can continue to develop. I just want to help this team succeed, win games and be up there in the table, and to enjoy my football." he said.

The winger arrives from Bayer Leverkusen. He never quite adapted to the Bundesliga. Since joining the German club in January this year, Gray has made just 12 appearances. He scored one goal and provided two assists. Now he hopes to improve on those figures and get back to his best at Everton.
