Leo Messi continues his leadership at the top of the European Golden Boot rankings, having scored 29 goals and earned 58 points throughout the course of the season. But he cannot rest on his laurels, with PSG forward Kylian Mbappe hot on his heels with 26 goals, including another goal this weekend as PSG beat Marseille 3-1.
He is, however, a fair distance ahead of third-placed Fabio Quagliarella, who is 10 points behind the Frenchman on 42 points. Cristiano Ronaldo did not play in Juventus' last league game against Genoa, and so stays on 19 goals, level with Krzysztof Piatek of AC Milan, who is ahead due to the number of minutes played.
The rest of the list is completed by Sergio Aguero, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Surez, Mbaye Diagne and Robert Skov.

It must be remembered that the European Golden Boot only counts goals scored in the league. To calculate points, 'European Sports Media' applies a multiplier to each league based on its UEFA ranking. This means goals scored in the five biggest leagues (Spain, France, Germany, England and Italy) are given a multiplier of 2, while those scored in lower-ranked leagues are multiplied by 1.5. Minor leagues do not have any multiplier applied.
In the case of two players being level on points, the one with the fewest minutes played in the league is ranked higher.
