Swiss coach Erik Anders Hamrén announced his departure from the position of Iceland manager after missing out on Euro 2020 qualification.
Hamrém, in the post since 2018, explained that he will leave the post after not achieving the objective that the Icelandic FA set him.
Iceland lost 2-1 to Hungary and missed out on qualification. Hamrén will still manage the side for the next two Nations League games against Denmark and Iceland.
Hamrén, 63, took over from dentist Heimir Hallgrímsson after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The manager set himself the target of taking Iceland to the Euros, achieved only once, by his compatriot Lars Lagerback.
